Does that Insight antenna improve reception over the stubby one?
I tried a Jetta antenna on my car once and didn't notice an improvement.

If the insight one does, I would sacrifice the look for better reception any day.

Thanks

I don't know. You may want to send a message to H and A and ask them.

To all of you that have aftermarket radios, did you remember to hook up the power wire to the antenna? I didn't know about this when I replaced my oem one and got terrible reception. After I hooked the wire up, it was alot better.

Actually,
This reminds me of the time when me and the owner of a porsche dealer were talking. He let me drive one of the demo 911 turbos. The thing was wicked fast. But when i turned on the stereo, it sounded like crap. i said to him, 100k for this thing and the stereo sounds like that? he said that porsches were mainly designed to speed up fast, stop fast, and turn faster than the other cars out there. The original design intent was not for luxury but for speed and handling. Maybe... thats what out S2000 designers were thinking about when they designed this car.
I mean... i own a 2004 accord lx, the system actually sounds really nice for a factory system. The accord uses Alpine as their head unit manufactuer.

Also, if you upgrade the head unit does that improve reception or not really? (Audio upgrade tops my list of things to do right now...)
Upgrading to an aftermarket radio does not improve reception, but it does improve sensitivity. So, while I agree the stock radio reception blows. It does get better with an aftermarket radio.

However, I upgraded to a competition-class system and the sound is now so clear that I distinctly hear when the signal isn't 100% perfect. So, signal is cleaner, but it's 10x easier to hear the imperfections which might make it even worse.

Based on what I know about radio reception I would blame it on the antenna. To receive FM radio signals the antenna should be 33 inches long. The insight antenna is not long enough either. Unfortunately our cars would look funny with a full sized antenna and an antenna in the rear window would not work on our cars for obvious reasons.
