9:01 am and 68*. Sunny and clear. Looks like perfect weather for Vegas. Leaving on Sunday ^_^

My boyfriend is going to be taking his check ride today for school (training to be a pilot). He's very quiet today, walking around reading his textbooks ... even though this isn't the biggest test, he still has to pass it if he wants to move forward at all.
Minako, wish him luck for me. I always wanted to be a pilot but was never able to get into flight training for a number of reasons. It's a dream of mine that will most likely stay a dream. Aviation has been one of my major interests all my life, but I remain ground-bound.

I'm crushed? What? No Gaza Strip vacation?
I'm with you all the way about driving Ohio. If I have a choice betweeen a plane & my S2000, well
(as long as there's no time crunch involved).

But there are cool places to see across the pond. And yes, they really do have things there that we don't have here. BTW, not thinking about Pakistan, Lybia, Gaza Strip etc.

Flying has become such a major pain!

I'm not talking about airliner riding, which is like taking an overcrowded bus, nor am I talking about flying one either. I had to fly when I was in sales, and while I enjoyed flying in and of itself, the rest of the one has to deal with isn't worth it. I agree 100% with you, there is so much to see on this continent that I have no desire to go anywhere else. I can spend all of my remaining days exploring this vast countryside of ours and never run out of new adventures. Hilly and I only drive when we vacation, and we use interstates only when absolutely necessary, much preferring to travel the smaller roads.

What I have dreamed of doing is soaring like a hawk, following invisible currents high in the air, twisting and turning above rolling hills with deep blue sky like a bubble above me. I once had the good fortune to have a ride in a sailplane, and ever since then I have dreamed of learning to fly one; unfortunately that will remain a dream.

Well guys, Bryson failed the check ride. He wouldn't tell me why, and he's really upset right now, so I let him go be by himself for a bit (he called me on his cell phone).

I did let him drive the S today, though, because I knew he was worrying a lot about the test. I hope it helps him feel better... to have the wind blowing his hair and the sun beating down on him.

payyourtoll - Those pictures are so gorgeous. The S really makes me happy just by looking at it! Ecstasy, of course, is when you get in and drive.

Tell Bryson that lesson number 1 is to pick yourself up, brush yourself off, and try again. Like Ohio said, you don't fail until you stop trying.

MsPerky... Rob... thanks for the kind words.

I'm taking off 2 hours early from work today. Going to take him out to sushi at our favorite Japanese restaurant and cheer him up. Bryson will retake the test, of course, but it just sucks because it is $300 for each test. He has passed all the ones he's taken before, so this one was kind of a let down.

7:07 pm, 91* (HOT!!), supposed to cool down to 70* later on tonight. A perfect S day, wouldn't you agree?
