Looks like the eye is just now moving across into VA from NC. DC seems to be between rain storms. That's why it has been clear here for about an hour. Southwest of here (Fredericksburg, Warrenton) and Northeast of here they are getting clobbered. Not sure if we will get more rain or not. Winds are still very strong and will remain that way through most of tomorrow.

I thought we were in the clear but the weather the past half hour has deteriorated dramatically. Winds are still making the windows creak. Gusting about 60 mph or more I guess. What a weird hurricane this is. Seems to have spawned big thunderstorms. The lightning is blue like you see when a transformer is arcing. Glad I still have electricity...no work again tomorrow.

Enjoying your decriptions here. Blue lightning sounds cool, but I'm sure it's kinda scary there.

Update from DC - I did not lose electricity last night, but about one million people here in the area did. Many trees down and flooding. It was pretty incredible watching the storm from up here on the 16th floor. I thought the windows might break but fortunately there was just alot of wind whipping around them. I hope people can post today and tell us what happened in the various locations. Still alot of wind today but clearing skies.
