Rain again, again.

It's awful, really

I imagine you really miss the humid, overcast, smoggy northeast.
AUGH! I'm just going to vent vent vent...
The search function just doesn't help me very much.
I type in "oil change" and I get weird topics back like "for sale!" and "should I get an evo8?"
I just wanted to make sure I could change my break-in oil now (at 6k miles) because I think what was mentioned in the owner's manual was different than what everybody else was recommending...
Okay end of rant
How is everybody? I've been absent for awhile... missed a lot of pages. O_o Today was a scorcher... over 90* here in San Ramon. So hot that I didn't even get to drive with the top down for fear of burning the top of my head.

I changed my oil at 5K. The dealer once said 7500, then 3750, so I took the middle of the two. I was only about an ounce low (or something ridiculous like that) and there hasn't been any problems. I figured every 5K is easy to remember. Everyone has their doubts about what time to change the oil, but trust me, it all get's better after the first oil change.
I think I'm going to stick with non-synthetic for now... no need for the expensive stuff. I don't track my S, or race 17 year olds... I'm conservative. Just my .02
BTW... 11:20p.m. - 67 degrees - cool

3,750 miles is for severe conditions. 7,000 miles is what Honda recommends under "normal" conditions. Many people feel that 7,000 miles is too long. I change mine every 3,750 miles.
You should change yours now and find a routine of about every 3,750 miles. Change the filter with every oil change.
Do not use synthetic until 10,000 miles. Until then stick to regular (conventional) oil 10W30. Use a quality brand such as Castrol GTX.
