Rain again, again.
Rain on your S2k:
Here in Okahoma, our City water is very akaline. and washing my car with my hose tends to leave white spots on the paint that have to be polishied off due to the water content. Rain water, however is very neutral on the acid/akaline scale. so the best car wash I can get is to leave her out in the rain, and then wipe her down. As far as driving in the rain, I have no concern, except that it's best if the top is up.
Thanks,
Richard

Sat morning...7 am. Sunny but not for long! Low 70s today and clouds with rain moving in this afternoon. Big sinkhole in a road up in Frederick, MD. Looks like top down for awhile. And tomorrow looking better. Mon-Wed looking spectacular! Back at work days - darn...
Still raining here in the Tampa area. Rivers are flooding, some roads are underwater.
Our big meet at Boca Grande (island about 90 miles south of Tampa) has been called off. Nothing to do today but drink beer and look out the window or sit in the lanai and watch the rain come down.
For those interested in a good long read, here's our weather alert down here....
"...Significant Freshwater And River Flooding Is Possible This Weekend...
...Synopsis... Deep Tropical Moisture Will Continue Across All Of West Central And Southwest Florida Today As Weak Areas Of Low Pressure Continue Moving Across The Northeastern Gulf Of Mexico. The Deep Moisture Will Ease Slowly Southward...Affecting Mainly Areas From Tampa Bay To Fort Myers And Points East By Tonight And Sunday.
...Rainfall... In Many Areas...The Ground Is Fully Saturated From The Combination Of Repeating Torrential Rains And Minimal Drying Due To The Lack Of Sunshine. Any Additional Heavy Rainfall May Begin To Cause More Serious Problems...Including Widespread Freshwater Flooding. Such Flooding Would Close Dozens Of Roads...Including A Few Major Thoroughfares...And Flood Pasture Land.
One Major Area Of Concern Is Across Citrus And Levy Counties...Where Two Day Rainfall Has Ranged From 6 To 12 Inches In Many Locations.
Widespread Rains Of 2 To 4 Inches...With Locally 8 Inches...Is Likely Again Today. The Heaviest Rains Can Once Again Be Expected Between 6 AM And 6 PM.
...River Flooding... Rivers Across The Entire Region Are Rising Steadily...With All Forecast Points Expected To Be In Flood Either Later This Weekend Or Early Next Week. If The Forecast Rains Materialize Both Today And Sunday...The Potential Exists For Moderate To Perhaps Major Flooding At Some Locations...Especially South Of A Tampa Bay To Lakeland Line Where Three Days Of Torrential Rains Are Expected.
Residents Along Rivers...Creeks...And Streams In West Central Florida Should Keep Abreast Of The Latest River Forecasts And Warnings From The National Weather Service...And Prepare Now To Move To Higher Ground Should Conditions Warrant.
...Urban Flooding... The Soil Is Saturated In Many Urban And Suburban Locations As Well. Repeating Cells Would Cause Quick Runoff...Which May Produce Flash Flood Conditions Later Today And Perhaps Again On Sunday. Poor Drainage And Low Lying Locations Are At Greatest Risk.
...General Safety Precautions... Remember A Flood Watch Means Flooding Is Possible During The Next 24 To 36 Hours. Residents In Flood Prone Areas...As Well As Those Living Near Small Streams And Creeks...Should Be Prepared To Take Action To Protect Property.
Stay Tuned To Noaa Weather Radio And Other Local Media For Updates... Including Advisories Or Warnings...Later Today."

I can't believe the kind of weather you are having in Fla. Its nasty up and down the East Coast.
We're still very wet here in NJ and more rain is predicted.
Deb
What about the sinkhole? Were the roads washed out? Wow!

6/21/03, 10:09AM, sunny and low 60's. Headed for low 70's today. The paper (as if I believe that) has no mention of rain for the next 5 days and temperatures headed for the upper 80's.
. I'll believe it when I see it.
