Hard to believe but there have actually been some 1/2 hours patches of
this morning here in the Philly western 'burbs. Hope it keeps improving as I need to drive 100 miles to Harrisburg around noon today.... driving the ancient Odyssey
due to need for volume...
someone please teach me the anti-rain dance!
yesterday (1st day of summer) at around 3pm, we had an amazing lightning show here. too bad that the lightning decided to take out the electricity on our block! i dont think i've ever seen it rain that hard. it usually takes a good sized downpour at least 2 hours to totally flood out the street in front of our house. yesterday it took only a few minutes! right after the lightning hit, my roomate and i had to break out the shopvac and buckets (AGAIN!) to remove the water from our basement, but since there was no electricty, we had to do the bucket line!!
supersaturated ground + torrential downpour = flooded basement^3

We'd be glad to teach you the anti-rain dance but we haven't figured it out yet. We had a power outtage here last night. When the power came back on at 3:49 A.M. the surge took out a ballast in my kitchen fixture. Adam and I spent this morning replacing it.
Now its raining again.
Hey Ohio, send some of that clear sky this way.

On my last trip home from CT I originally started to come down the Merrit Parkway towards the Hutch but when I saw the clouds in the distance I switched across 287 W to the Garden State Parkway. I made it all the way home that way and then it started to pour.

. Not a cloud in the sky here and headed to 80. No rain in sight for the next few days...supposedly.
. It's coming your way.
