9:40PM Sunday night in the Windy City. It's about 75, low humidity and clear.

What a wonderful weekend. The weather has been beautiful, saw a local production of Kiss Me Kate last night with my wife and her mother, and today we went downtown to visit my #2 daughter who lives in the Near North side; walked the lakefront, had lunch at a little cafe near Oak Street Beach, wandered down to Taste of Chicago and had some great food. Life is good...

Tomorrow is finally the day, at about 3PM I'll be heading home happier than a pig in, ummm, mud.

I might even be able to post my impressions of new ownerhood tomorrow night, if I remember to come here, what with all the new-car excitement and such...

It sounds like you-all had a great weekend, the photos are quite nice.

Tom

Mike

After the S2000 itself, the nicest things about owning the car are the friends that I've made, and meeting them in person. I've made a lot of friends because of my S, especially in the Rain Thread, and this weekend I got to meet three of them. Can't do much better than that.

Maybe we can convince everyone to come in for Fall Colors. Those of us on the East Coast will probably be there. We've got to start working on Ohio, Deb, Tom, 4 and some of the other participants now. What a nice meet that would be.

Plenty of time for baseball... not too much time for toasters...

Angels are doing so-so... they're just above .500

Dodgers are doing pretty well - except for the three losses to Anaheim.

Mets still suck... Yanks are doing well (what else is new).

Cubbies are staying strong (but wait till the break and they'll go to shit - like every year)

Same with the Mariners - doing very, very well. They might have a shot this year.

San Fran, St. Louie, Atl, and Minn are all staying strong and are in the lead in their division.

That's the update, folks...

One of these days the Cubbies will take it all. Tom will have the last laugh.

What's the saying... "It'll be a cold day in...?"

I think it goes It'll be a cold day in Chicago. But it's always cold in Chicago isn't it? Windy for sure.

Start making your plans for Fall Colors now. (You can bring the toasters to the meet)

Chicago's like the desert... Cold one day then hot the next... Crazy!

and regarding the toasters and Fall Colors - you must not of heard the announcement today... all the airlines put a ban on any carrying or packing of toasters - it's the strangest thing...
