Do some serious reserach on the wash and wax forum. Keep the car looking new. In a post about a year ago I posted a list of my pending order to www.properautocare.com and was soliciting comments. I think the feedback was that I ordered good stuff. You can do a search for that if you want. One immediate comment since you talked about the windshield is to use a microfiber towel (I think they are called Viper) and special glass cleaner that they sell on that site. I'll never go back to Streak-dex and paper towels again!! I might recommend holding off washing it until you get the proper stuff (Chenille wash mitt, drying towels, etc.). Don't use Dawn unless you want to strip all the previous wax and stuff off. I think I use Meguire's Gold Class Shampoo.
Thanks Ohio , I've been weeding my way through that forum via various searches, and saving threads to a bookmark folder for later perusal. I found your thread and saved that one also. You echoed my thoughts about holding off on washing; I'd hate to do a hurry up thing and possibly screw up the finish, so I'll be ordering whatever supplies I determine will work for me and wait til they come in.

I'm jealous - I assume hot & humid means no rain?

Just be advised that as soon as you clay bar, polish and wax your car, it will rain in Chicago for weeks. Never fails.

First chance of rain is after midnight Thursday night, on into Friday. We're supposed to have a pretty good chance of severe weather, so I'll probably keep the new baby snugged up in the garage that day.

Weekend is 'sposed to be good tho.

Hope Bill, or Bob, or whatever "B" storm it is, passes you by quickly.
