Default ram air?

Has anyone tried drilling out the fake grills in the front of the s2k and tried to make it a ram-air? Judging by the amount of leaves that end up stuck in mine, it seems to suck air in there pretty well...

Just curious if it had been tried.

Nobody seems to like that one. The filter also takes in hot air fron the engine compartment. Dyno test have shown loss of power.

I have done this...no dyno to back it up but races and butt dyno prove it to me.

What I did was cut out the fake ducts and put grill in there. Then I cut a 3" hole in the airbox aimed right at the filter. I got some dryer ducting (ghetto, I know, but it works) and ran it from that hole to the lower right duct. I also blocked off the resonater. Don't know if that had any HP increase but made the car sound a little throatier.

I have a homemade air duct on mine.

I took a brake duct, attached it behind the front bump and ran duct hose from the duct to the airbox. Seems to work good for me!

If you do a search you should be able to find it.

There is no way that you can have ram air going in through the bottom of the car. Ram air is air that is forced straight through the hood and into the intake. The AEM and Injen is only a filter that gets cooler air then through a series of curves and up to the intake.

Ram air is just outside air flowing directly into an intake. The only true ram air for an S2000 is obtained by getting one of the Japanese aftermarket hoods with a hole in it where the stock intake horn is.

I guess this would be called forced cool air. At least thats what I'd call the intake I made...
