Default Rear Plastic screen (again.....)

I'm fairly new to the S2k club having acquired the little beauty in Sept 02. This being my first winter, whenever the sun is out, the roof is down. One cold morning whilst putting the roof down an almighty crack was heard from behind. To my horror a large hole had been punctured in the rear plastic screen. Has anyone encountered similar problems??

I'm assuming you are talking about the screen between the roll hoops.

Yes, I have a large scatch, created from some sort of flying crap that hit it while on a spirited drive.

Stuff Happens.

Not for me and never will happen to me. I hope you have an owner's manual. It states that you shouldn't lower or raise the top below a certain degree of temperature. That is probably what happened to you. Put it down to lesson learned.

Thank you, I didn't notice he was from across the lake.

Thing is, I checked the owners manual and it says not to lower the roof in freezing temperature. There was no frost or ice. Just a little cold.......

I don't believe ours says that. I think it says something about if it is close to freezing the plastic becomes brittle. Why chance it?

many a wise word spoken after the event! I know it's a mistake I certainly won't be making again. Very costly......Thing is, in the UK you have to get the roof down at every opportunity. You never know the next time the sun will come out!

I realize that Digby. I haven't driven mine for over 2 months here, let alone with the top down. I live near the shore of Lake Erie and we get a lot of bad stuff off of the lake.
