Will it damaged it?>.. F*ck yeyaah!!..Of course it will though not immediately ,the plastisizzle is not deshizzle for a exposhizm for heat,..be a tru playa and convert that joint into a glass and be da coolest kid in the block, and start poppin some cap!!

The heat actually helps the plastic to fold correctly when lowered. If you have any creases in the plastic window already, a bit of heat either from the sun or hot water will help smooth those out.
You main concer should be UV radiation. In time this will cause your window to go yellow and get brittle. I suggest using some "303 Aerospace Protectant" or similar product to guard against UV rays. Just spray some of this on after you wash your car.

Yes, the sun will damage the plastic rear window, even if it is well taken care of. Sun light (UV light) will cause the plastic to harden and become brittle and eventually it will crack. But even if not exposed to UV light for long periods, the plastic window will do that on its own over time, the exposure just accelerates the process. Treatments will help to slow it down somewhat, but will not prevent it. Good luck.
