Rearview Mirror Vibration
OK...so dumb question. My rearview mirror bounces around quite a bit. It's fine on a relatively smooth road surface, but bounces around when the road goes rough or when I hit the "turtles" changing lanes. I've removed, re-installed and tightend as much as possible with minimal improvement.
The car had the windshield replaced prior to my ownership, but the mount appears right and the mirror is factory. I've looked at the exploded parts view and all the parts are there, but I'm wondering if maybe an insulator, shim or gasket is missing.
This is beginning to drive me nuts...I'm about to pull the trigger on an Auto Dimming mirror from Nito to make it go away.....
Any help would be appreciated.

Same with mine!!..never bothered to ask anyone about it....even blamed my youngster for possibly knocking it in the garage with his pushbike...The whole mirror housing moves on the door mounting..have tried to jam a slice of rubber between the housing and the mounting...not too successful.....wonder if someone else has a view on the wobbly mirror...
Travis, good to see you're awake and alert
..forgot when i replied that LakeLaPlante had mentioned the windshield replacement
so it wasn't the wing mirror.........now, where's that kid of mine and his pushbike?
cos my wing mirror is still wobbly..
