I just got my 15K service done today. Last week, I started having a problem with the driver's side window going down when I put the top down (like everyone else here LOL)

Anyway, when I got the invoice, the reason given was:

"Contamination in the motor causes a loss of ground. Removed and replaced window regulator"

Has anyone ever heard this one before? I know there are a bunch of threads on this topic, but I had never seen this given as the reason...

 

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that when I asked the service advisor about this, he also mentioned that if the rubber in the window frame isn't kept greased, then the friction of the window going up into the ungreased rubber causes the window to work too hard and thus screw up the motor.... I thought it sounded sorta far fetched mysef.... opinions?

 

What!? Are we expected to have greasy windows all the time?
