Default Recommendations on cleaning the exhaust tips?

Does anyone know of a good material to clean the exhaust tips? I tried to wash them like the rest of the car, but the carbon doesn't seem to be coming off that easily. A friend of mine recommended some kind of Chrome Cleaner, but I thought I would check here before I tried anything...

Any cheap chrome-cleaning paste works fine, but it's a hopeless battle. The tips look great till you drive the car the next time.

i find that good old Honda Spray Cleaner and Polish does a nice job, as well as on paint and just about any other surface that needs cleaning. especially plastics!

I've found the trick is to keep up on them, every time you wipe any dust off the car, for example, also make it a point to rub/wipe the tips with a separate clean rag.

If you don't give the carbon a chance to stain them, you'll be surprised how good-looking they can stay.

Get a V-AFC and you won't have nearly as hard a time keeping up with it

Please don't laugh but I use oven cleaner. It does the job for me and I don't have to scrub. Just spray it on there and in about a few minutes the crap comes off.
