I recently saw a new red '01 in a dealer showroom and loved the colour. I ordered my '02 car yesterday (yes!) and the tiny paint chip in the brochure looks a little lighter. I want a deep red! I'm wondering if the perceived difference is because I'm looking at such a tiny square of red or if the colour has changed the way the silver has changed.

 

I believe the print of New Formula Red are all the same.

The 2002 New Formula Red car that I recently saw at a local dealer looked the same as my MY 2000 car. If there has been a change, it is very small.

 

The paint code on my '00 New Formula Red is R-510. This can be entered into the computer at any paint shop to mix matching paint. If the code on the '02 is the same, then I'd bet that it is the same color. However, they could have used the same color with a different code for the '02. Paint code is on the driver's door sill on my '00. Hope this helps.

 

I had my '01 red next to '02 model. They appear to be the same.
