replacing my rearview mirror

replacing my rearview mirror
I have an issue with my rear-view mirror; I replaced my windshield not too long ago and my rear view mirror vibrates when I drive on the street. I am guessing it is loose but I do not know how to adjust it. Anybody know how?
Oh and back to the topic at hand...
I want to replace my rear view mirror with a auto-dimming version. I was told that taking off the connector from the windshield is extremely dangerous. If I were to take it to a professional windshield installer, should I be scared? Or can I trust that they wont crack anything?

As for the mirror, what's the issue as far as you are concerned? If they screw it up then they have to fix it. Does it matter to you whether their job is easy or hard?

You should always be sacred at all times. You just never know when that might be important.

I am no worried about the job being difficult for the installer. I just wont want the job to be TOO difficult where they can potentially crack my windshield. Its the hassle I dont want.

Thanks for pointing out the grammar mistake.

So pick somebody competent and you won't have a hassle. That might involve not choosing the low bidder.

I just had my windshield replaced yesterday and the mirror was loose bounced and vibrated. When I pulled on the mirror it "popped" into place as though it had been pushed in too far and the ball had gone past the socket. It's been fine ever since.
Hope yours is as easy to fix

if you are looking to go with an autodim and glue on a universal gm mounting point, grab the "button" with a pair of pliers and give it a quick 90 degree twist of the wrist, comes off easily.
Make sure you don't hang anything on the new mounting button for a few days until it sets up solidly.
