I think you just really have to pull to get it to fit. If this is the same spot I was at, you just have to muscle it in. Try moving your top in different top up and down in different positions to see if you can get more room.

I'm not 100% sure though.. it's been years since I've done this. Cyclon is amazing with helping out though!

GREAT WRITE UP!!!
Thanks for all the info, and from looking at your pictures, I found out the reason why my top is leaking water. I took the trim pieces off and never knew that there is suppose to be a piece of rubber like this on there. The previous owner installed the top before i bought it and i didnt double check everything . But do you have any more pictures like this of the rubber water channel? Im tryin to find one now but im not sure how this piece fits into everything. thanks

Is it possible to remove the top without cutting it and redoing it? My top isn't installed correctly as seen here:

As you can see the top doesn't cover the rubber seals like it's supposed to. It's somewhat tight so it doesn't leak but I am able to put my finger through to the other side. I'm not sure which brand the top is since I bought the car used. So what's the cheapest and or easiest way to fix this?

Looks like it's $110 new. It basically gets the top material inserted into it's U shape channel so when water hits your top it flows down into the channel and is directed out to the sides. Without it, your top will leak.

You shouldn't have to do much to repair this area as the sides of the top are not really attached to the frame where you're having the problem.

My best guess would be that the tensioning wire was either left out of installation or is not installed correctly.

Here's a shot of it when the top is removed: Name: IMG_2722.jpg

I finished installing an EZ-On top using this guide last week. It helped tremendously and without it I definitely wouldn't of been able to do it, thanks Cyclon36!

For everyone considering this, it was a major PITA. Took me about 8-9 hours to install the top and put the interior back together. I did this with one other person and both of our fingers were killing us by the end of it because of all the stretching and pulling. Don't let that scare you though, do it yourself and save $400-$500 dollars, money that could be put towards other mods.

Oh, and I purchased the EZ-On Top with the stayfast cloth / canvas material option for $520 shipped on ebay from topsonline.com's ebay store. The canvas material looks much nicer and is a much deeper black then OEM, I'm really happy with it.

PM Sent.

I find it easier to push it into the upper groove first then just push backwards on the whole thing. It should pop in. Just make sure that the rear tray is actually snapped down. Sometimes it looks like it is, but it only has one or two snaps in.
