I tried this and worked great for a while. Unfortunately, as I left the top down and the hot sun started beating down on it, the weather seal adhesive started to deteriorate. Once that happened, the vibration took over and started to slip the weather seal out of place. I had to constantly massage it back in place. Eventually, I decided to take the weather seal off and let it vibrate. As long as the vibration does not cause any damage to the brackets, I am happy. By the way, it only took about 2 weeks of driving and parking with top down did I run into this problem.

Any other suggestion?

You're right. This fix is not permanent - especially if you keep raising or lowering the screen, or opening the secret compartment. The foam loses its form, and also quickly comes unglued if the weather's hot.

How I suggest remedying the vibration is using clear silicone. It is easily able to be removed, easy to apply, and will fix issues with vibration.

Yeah, I also don't like the idea of gluing the rubber strips with strong adhesive to the roll hoops. I will look for a different solution, maybe silicone is the way to go. I will try it out.

Why wouldn't a stretchy, see through fabric work as well? I seem to see them on Porche and a few other high end convertibles.
