I wouldn't leave the hardtop at home for a road-trip.

unless you are going somewhere there is no rain at all. (?)

This is why I don't get why people pay extra for a convertible that doesn't have a soft top.

When I lived in Los Angeles, I wanted to take a road trip up the central valley, into the Sierra Mountains, and back down the coast. I called several weather bureaus and asked, "will there be any rain anywhere in California in the next two weeks". After they stopped laughing at me, they said that I should be OK if I stayed out of the mountains. They were right. I left the top at home, took the trip, and only got wet from the forehead up when it rained a bit at the last. (OK, we did hide out in a mountain tunnel for a while, waiting for the storm to pass.)

Your local weather bureaus are your friends. Ask them.

thomsbrain - not worried about the drunks...

S14 to S2k - I bought the CR because it is what I wanted, simple enough.

Woodson - I don't understand a lot of things. To me the CR is the perfect car... for ME.

Mike21 - Risk? Driving any convertible is always a risk. I can either have my "Car cover of some sort slashed or a soft top slashed.

To all those that may think it is risky, I disagree. If someone wants to break into my car, they are going to do it no matter what. I however am not to worried about that. My main concern and the reason for posting is so I dont get a wet ass in the morning if I stay the night somewhere.

do you have to worry about morning dew or moisture from parking outside overnight?

the other issue is that the interior just gets dirtier faster.

i also wouldn't go without the hardtop if there's any chance of rain.

You make it seem like the cloth top is some sort of force field.
