going on a road trip with any kind of top sounds like a terrible idea to me. i mean just how long can you go without encountering any rain at all?

if you got a car cover i guess it would be do-able but if no car cover...hell no

You make it seem like the cloth top is some sort of force field.
!!!

I couldnt agree more with you. If someone really wanted into our convertible cars, its so easy. I leave my car top down parked and thats my theory too. If someone wanted in my car, or to take it, they would. People out there know how to take any car, if they want it, they want it. You just made me laugh with that statement

Woodson - I don't understand a lot of things. To me the CR is the perfect car... for ME.
Clearly it's not, or you wouldn't have had to start this topic.

.

In my opinion, the CR came with a hardtop, so thats how I would keep it unless I was just in town. I wouldnt go on a road trip or something like that without it.

Is nice to see another member clearly in touch with reality.

I believe it is up to me to decide what is perfect for me. One thread means nothing. Nothing in my question states a fault of the car. It doesn't have a soft top, I was well aware of that when I bought it.

I know it would be a huge reality check if you came out to find your little tarp ripped off and your seats or something gone. If you did go on this trip like you want, I would at least invest in some seat locks just to be on the safe side.

Yes, thieves will take what they want, but they will generally go after the easiest target and in this case that would be you. Good luck.

Find a gas station cover or an overpass to wait out the rain like motorcycle guys do!
