Rad Ray - Thanks for the story and you will be the first to see my pics from my trips. I usually go with a friend and we play a game we call "left right straight". Basically we switch back and forth calling out one of the three directions in order to get lost. GPS gets us home. Unfortunately the CR is in MN and I am in Germany.

aCab - I will be sure to post pics and write something up, I'll be sure to keep it over 50

#172 CR - Through the snow sounds like a good time to me You are more of a man than I for sure. When I have a little more free time I will get caught up and read the CR section.

Thanks to you all.

Here in Arizona we get not even an inch of rain every year, and the one day I decide to go to work with the top off it 'srpinkles'. That's just bad luck for me.

But, personally it depends where your road trip takes you. And pretty much how comfortable you are with leaving the interior of your car to Mother Nature's mercy. I on the other hand have had my CR for nearly a month now, and the more and more I go out with the top off the more I'm comfortable with it, I always park it in sight and close.

I live in the suburubs of Phoenix AZ and it's predominately wealthy people, so I don't worry too much, but whenever I head down South I'm always sure to bring my top.

Also, when you guys do park with the top off or down, do you usually roll the windows up or down? I'm afraid some a-hole is going to just smash it because it looks so fragile... So mine is always down if the top is off.

he failed to tell you that he way crying the whole way and begging to borrow a HT from someone.

I remember that drive - everyone pulls in - tops going up on the way into the parking lot and poor Ira. Luckily we were only there long enough to dispose of the coffee from breakfast.

If you are worried so much about it, possibly you got the wrong car. But I think you just want advise on how to do the trip and not have issues. Here is mine - look for hotels/motels with either parking garages, or covered parking. Make sure your insurance is up to date, and have a good time.

I didn't ask for what your opinions on whether or not this was a good idea. If you think it's a bad one, don't do it.

I love driving with top down, A) I see better, and B) I just think it looks cooler, and I do miss my sun roof. Mainly O open my sun roof at night, since I don't have one I see nothing wrong w/ going top down all the way!

In CA, it's a bit chilly, so nothing a beanie, scarf, and driving gloves can't fix. Just bring towels with you. Always have some in my trunk to wipe stuff down in the insides just in case. Lol, I parked my car out once at a friends house and his neighbor turned on the sprinklers. Bastard.... Got the interior all wet.

The reality is that I have both a softtop and a hardtop.

Don't get so defensive, its just a forum.

[QUOTE=Woodson,Jan 7 2011, 08:23 AM] Clearly it's not, or you wouldn't have had to start this topic.
