Great write up. I agree it was more comfortable to drive than sleep unfortunately on my recent road trip.

Sleeping in the S on road trips is probably one of the hardest things to do..

The noise, the inability to rest your head almost anywhere(i forgot a pillow) and a seat that wont recline..

needless to say i didnt let the GF drive for long lol

In 3 weeks I will be driving from Utah, all the way down to southern Georgia. It is projected to take me 32 hrs of driving. I just barely bought the car, so it will be a bonding experience/ me getting used to the S.

me and the wife drove to texas from atlanta, 15ish hours, when the sun was out we had the top up but once we hit texas the sun was setting and it was getting nicer, right at the state line we dropped the top and then as we hit austin we were going over this big bridge and it started sprinkling, the wife looked concerned but i just gassed it and we stayed dry

no sleeping in the S but a great drive

i drove a 1000 miles from jacksonville to southern NJ to bring my S2K home. I loved every minute of it, so much more comfortable than I expected it to be.

Just made the trip from Los Angeles to Knoxville,Tn .... needless to say my back and neck were killin me... I left monday morning at 630 am and arrived in knoxville on tuesday at 700 pm.... It was fun and the third time i have done this trip in the S, needless to say next time i will stay in a hotel rather than take a power nap in the drivers seat for an 1 and a half...

Did you two take any pictures along the way? Definitely have to post them if you did.

I definitely need to do a weekend trip somewhere in the S. Driving it straight home from Florida for 14+ hours doesn't count.

I drove from San Antonio, TX all the way back to Toronto, Canada. Total of 38 hours, broken into 4 days. Average of 9 hours of straight driving per day with 1 hour rest for lunch.

It was only doable cause I just bought the car, everything felt fresh. Also visited Tail of the Dragon on my 3rd day so there was some excitement/expectations. On the 4th day when I got home I didn't want to drive the s2k anymore.
