Road tripping in the S

I could only drive the S2000 on a road trip if it involved nearly all backroads. Interstate slogs are torture in the S2000!
The constant tense drone from the engine buzzing away at 4000+ RPM, the constant wind and tire noise, the radio useless because of the noise, nowhere comfortable to put your elbows for more than a couple minutes... The Accord is an infinitely better car for the task. Actually a Camry would be even better!
But throw some curves into the mix and it's a different story altogether.

All my trips are always planned out with the twistiest roads.
Definitely throw in some fun roads to mix it up. Here's one handy resource:

Road trips aren't bad in the S.
My lady and I tripped 550 miles each way to the Tail of the Dragon (WTD09) this year and we easily fit a weekend worth of clothes in the trunk. I drove the whole time and averaged 31 mpg as well at 65-80 mph.

road trips are fun in the S! we went about 500 miles round trip and i had a blast. my butt fell asleep but it was solved wiht a bit of walking around/streching. its fun to just cruize!! especially when theres no traffic!!!
I just drove 2400 miles from Utah to Georgia with my 70 yr old grandpa. It wasn't actually that bad. We had to stop and stretch. We cruised about 75-90 most of the trip. One part I got 35 MPG, overall I averaged about 28 MPG but i was cruising 75-90. LOL.
My first car was a 1967 BMW 1600. Best I could get was 25 mpg. Of course I drove it like I stole it most of the time.
My last trip in the S was 1850 miles in 31 hours, averaging better then 30 mpg. 80-85 mph most of the way. Love this car.

I can top this one.... my wife recently took a 14 day road trip in the S, covering a little over 3000 miles. From S. Florida we first went Savannah, spent several days in DC, then west through Virginia, drove the entire length of the blue ridge parkway (with some side trips) over several days, saw the Smokey Mtns, drove the Tail of the Dragon and Cherohala Skyway. Overnight stops in Atlanta and Gainesville on our way back south. Burned through about a quart and a half of oil on the trip. Great fun!
Packing was tricky... to say the least. I had one small suitcase that dropped into the tool well, then a large duffle bag that pretty much took up the rest of the trunk, with a little room for camera bag and souvenirs on the sides.
We were both surprised at how comfortable we were in the car even on long stints. On our longest day we left Bryson City at 9am. With a little sightseeing and stops, plus driving the dragon and cherohala skyway, we made it to Atlanta around 10:30pm. Long day, but I never felt tired driving. We never had to stop to "stretch" or anything like that.
We had the top down 100% of the time that we weren't on interstates. Very relaxing!

I find it comfortable in the S! When I bought the car, my wife and I drove 2900 miles to bring it home. We saw things we would not have seen otherwise (Mt. Rushmore and the Badlands were the highlights). We averaged over 30mpg as well, even though my average speed was probably a little faster.
