Great thread guys! I am contemplating taking a trip in the S soon... Longest Ive driven is 100 miles non stop and it was a bit taxing... so itll be interesting to see how a longer trip goes.

The only problem I have with the S2000 and a long road trip is my driving position. I was taught by a professional driver how to position the drivers seat for driving, and since then I have a hard time feeling like I am driving it properly without the seat up right and in position.

After a lot of driving, it is rough on the lower back.

I drove from Jersey to Atlanta about 2 months ago. It was awesome from the perspective of driver. I'd never want to a passenger in the S for more than 1 hr.

During a trip to Texas from SoCal and then back, I averaged over 30 mpg and even hit 35.4 or so at one point. I set cruise control on for the most part of the trip and didn't have another driver with me.

I could only drive the S2000 on a road trip if it involved nearly all backroads. Interstate slogs are torture in the S2000!

The constant tense drone from the engine buzzing away at 4000+ RPM, the constant wind and tire noise, the radio useless because of the noise, nowhere comfortable to put your elbows for more than a couple minutes... The Accord is an infinitely better car for the task. Actually a Camry would be even better!

But throw some curves into the mix and it's a different story altogether.

I drove my s2k from Maryland to California in 5 days.

As for the tool tray, I just threw the jack and all the tools into the middle of the spare tire with some towels to prevent it from rattling in there.
