RPM limiter switch?
#32
I work in embedded software development, and there is no way I would try to 'fool' my S2000's ECU. Too many inputs, too many combinations, and you can't possibly understand the impact of these changes without seeing the actual code. With all the variables of temp, rpm, fuel/O2, throttle position, and everything else under the sun, I don't think I'd want to throw it a curve ball and wait to see what happens.
One of the basic tenets of software testing is that you always test not only the expected input combinations, but also make sure you handle the unexpected and invalid ones. As Modifry has pointed out, it the ECU ignores anomalous readings (as I would expect), so it looks like Honda knew what they were doing.
