Hey Everyone- I know this has been posted before but here's my brief story and my beef at the end of it. Well, this past weekend was the NSX/S2K/RX7 meet which was incredible! My girlfriend and I made a weekend out of it and got a hotel on the beach on the way back home. Needless to say Sunday on the way home I had a huge smile on my face from all that went on. Not far from home on the 57 Freeway I came up on another Silver stook who also had his girlfriend in the car. I got along side of him and was about to give him the "S2k greeting" (you konw the "V" or a wave) just something to acknowledge that we are family. He didn't even look over at me. My top was down because it was beautiful out and he must have been running his A/C with his windows up. Poor sucker!! Well, I passed him several times with not one glance Turns out he got off the same exit as me which is the 210 Freeway (for L.A. people) in San Dimas. Anyway, I was just pissed that this guy didn't even have the decency to give me a wave or a look or anything!! I mean come on...this guy was probably just a poser driving around in his stook (Top up) with just no clue what he's driving. Then again maybe he was just having a terrible day. Why can't more Stook owners be like you guys?

Well we are not all alike. You can be assured that everyone here would certainly notice another stook and probably run you off the road to get your email address. I've done it

Bad day or not, seeing another stook always chears me up especially if I get a chance to talk to them.

Peace

I wish you all would just get off of this S2000 brotherhood! We are just people with 1 common interest and it doesn't mean we share the same high enthusiam level that you do. Some people are just not fanatics about the S2000 like you. Get over it!

How's that for rude!

BTW,

I am seriously just kidding! I am the same way and wish everybody was the same. The first few months, I would catch up to every S2000 I saw just to say "HELLO ". My wife was embarrassed a few times that I performed this fanatical action. I just love this car and YOU SHOULD TOO!

joe_s2k, Similar thoughts to you but maybe not quite in those words. I bought the car because it's a really neat toy. Although I try to be polite when I see another car like mine (previous ones included) and acknowledge them back, I didn't get the car to meet strangers. I don't know you from a hole in the ground. For all I know that other guy could be a dirt bag that just stole the thing and is out on a joy ride. Or he could the neighbourhood drug dealer. Just 'cause he/she drives the same car as me doesn't mean he/she is anything like me. But I would try to be polite.

Here in car-jaded, L.A., it's not uncommon for people to have cars as status symbols and NOTHING MORE! So going wild trying to say "hi" to every S2K you see could be kinda depressing as many won't know what the hell you're trying to pull, much less that there's a supposed 'brotherhood' thing going on. Also, it's good to be wary of people trying to wave or otherwise communicate as it COULD be the start of something less than friendly. Remember those follow-home crimes a few years back? They still happen. So anyway, when my top is down on a weekend I may throw a wave at other S2Ks, or even the odd 356 or Cobra, and if they see me great, and if not, whatever. But if I'm on my way to work with my top up, or otherwise paying attention to the road, I hope no one takes offense if I don't notice their frenetic waving. No offense.

Don't take it personally. I always tried to wave at other C5 owners when I saw them, and some did, some didn't. Not every Vette owner is nice or maybe doesn't know about "the wave."

So is there an S2K wave, also? I won't get much of a chance to practice it, however. Just not very many around here. I like that.
