Default Running external mic from cabin to exhaust

So I picked up an external mic for my Garmin camera and wanted suggestions on routing the mic cable..

Garmin, mic, 12' cable, wind sock.
-The camera is mounted on the top of the "secret" compartment.
-Looking to mount the mic under the rear area of the bumper or if I go through the trunk near the license plate.

If anyone knows off hand the best place to go through the convertible area to trunk and/or through a plug to under the rear of the car?

Getting anxious to post some track videos with quality sounds!
Thanks!

i prefer the mic in the engine bay. I have tried exhaust noise with little success. You may be able to stuff the mic near the rear plate.

good luck

No need to put the mic outside of the car. I run one into the trunk and it does a very good job of picking up exhaust noise.

The key to audio is simple. Testing.
