Default Runs Great, Sucks Oil

With due apologies to regular forum readers for my flogging of this particular dead horse, I am beginning to suspect that oil consumption these days [about the 20,000 mile point] has begun to move upward with the advent of our South Carolina summer, and the consistent 90 degree temperatures.
Measuring oil consumption is an inexact science, where I consider that each 'x' on the dipstick represents about 0.2 quarts. I had thought that oil consumption had improved to the vicinity of 2500 miles or slightly better per quart. But now, with the hot weather, my most recent oil change seems to be more in the 1500 - 2000 miles per quart region. I should be able to get a better fix on this over the next several hundred miles. As far as I know, the local Honda dealer is still using the same 10W-30 oil. The car continues to run just fine, with absolutely zero problems, and I am a relatively tame user of VTEC, as always.
If any forum members who live in hot climates have noted a seasonal effect upon oil consumption, I look forward to their comments. Meanwhile, remember that infamous conversation between patient and psychiatrist:
Patient: I find that I enjoy sadism, necrophilia, and bestiality
Psychiatrist: You must stop flogging a dead horse.
