Default The S got hit.

Well I parked and went inside school at 7:50.

During 2nd block a kid comes up to me and proceeds to tell me that he hit my car. My heart sank.

I go outside to survey the damage and this is what I find.

The bad one.

You can tell where the bumper is about 1/3 inch lower than what it used to be.

Compared to the other side.

It's not horrible. But I'm pretty anal about my car. I filed a police report and I'm going to get quotes tomorrow.

He has agreed to pay out of pocket for the highest quote I find. So I probably won't report it to his insurance.

Any tips anyone could give me?

Bad idea. Always let the insurance companies deal with it. What if he decides not to pay you? You have to go to small claims court and sue him

The police report will not be ready until Tuesday. I told him he has until then to pay me. Otherwise I turn it in on the insurance Tuesday.

Yeah. Thats the reason I'm letting him do it without the insurance being involved.

At least you have a police report.

Looks like it's all isolated to the bumper? Hard to tell with all the dirt. You may be better off getting a new skin and having it painted than repainting and filling that plastic. Cost between both options is probably about the same. HTG has bumper skins, so does Majestic, shipping will hit you a bit but if he's paying for it, who cares.

I was thinking new bumper?

He knicked my rim. But I doubt I'll even bother with that seeing as how its a half inch scratch.

Props to the other guy for telling you.

Shit happens, but treat him reasonably otherwise next time he'll just hit and run...
