I see one problem with this... Insurance agencies run your VIN number through the police systems about once a year to see if you've had any tickets while driving a vehicle insured through them. More than likely, they will find out you had the accident and didn't file the claim. Even though it was no way your fault, they may still count it against you since you didn't report it.

I called my insurance company and the agent assured me that since I was inside the building and my car got hit in the parkinglot it will in no way shape or form be my fault or my rates go up.

Thats the thing. I parked at the back of the parkinglot in the freezing cold like i always do. Yet instead of parking somewhere else out of the hundreds of spots. He chose the one next to the little black car and the end.

This is true but according to my sources at multiple ins co. it cost money to do this like 20 bucks a cust. so it all depends if you have had a run in with your ins. co. before, its a game of probability

I was in this situation last year, but x10. The guy who hit me took my bumper with him, however he paid cash for the repair, no police report filed, I put my ass on the line but he came through.

I know you're past this part but always get:
Police report
Their insurance information, verify with photo ID
Go from there

Now, time to get the European fog light while you're at it.

Yeah , get your car fixed, but I would be praising the kid who had the balls to come up to you and tell you he hit your car. He could have easily just left and you would have to pay yourself. Props to him!

But he should also learn to park! haha

within a month of getting the G35, someone nailed it when parking and didn't leave a not... cost $2000 to fix it
