yeah a turbo charged is possible but if i were you get some good suspensions first. and then get a turbo charger or a supercharger. suspension first becuase an s2000 is not a drag car and is made for twisties and all that other shit. so once you get that finished go get a good exhaust and intake and then get a charger

Buy a Cobra and mod it, or try playing with a used TT Supra or RX-7 if you want 12's. Much easier IMO.

Last time I was to the track (before the rains came), 1RandyC put his Comptech'd (?) s2k at 12.9 I believe.

Just buy a dimadozen muscle car- they are as common as garbage along the roadside. You obviously don't have a clue what the S2000 is about-

To RELIABLY put an S2k in the 12's, you'll need Forced induction (either turbo or SC + gears), plus clutch upgrade, and DEFINITELY a rear end up grade. So:

FI: $4-6k
Gears: $1k
clutch: at least $1k
rear end: Depends on how hard core you wanna do. I'd say do it right the first time (cryo, etc. like you have yours) $3k at least
If you want to go turbo, you won't need the gears for 12's, but you'll be spending more than 4-6k then, perhaps $7-10k

The number I had in mind was at least $10k to make an S2000 a RELIABLE 12 sec drag car.

For about $3-4k on the cobra, you can produce at least 700whp (That Kenne-Belle blower is $2k, plus intake, full exhaust, tuning)

Say you upgrade clutch, that's only about $600 or so on a domestic. 9" ford rearend, PERHAPS $1500, w/ about a 4.11 gear upgrade, we'll say $2500 to make it interesting.

Throw on some slicks and maybe some subframe connecters, I'd say you have a RELIABLE 10 sec car for about $7500 in mods.

drag car = american muscle, go with the cobra.

or get a used S2000 for 18-20K and then do 10K worth of stuff to get a drag car out of it. Strip it down to bare essesntials, loose 400-600lbs of weight and do everything listed above. You can get to 12's.

i just got my s2k, and it's a really fun car, but for any cars... 12's, as long as u have enough money to put in , mostly they can make it. The thing here is stock s2k i'm driving now which is hell more comfortable compare to my old car ITR and it's slower. U make it go faster and then u gotta sacrifice something , motor or the comfort or the balance , and worth it or not it's all depends on u.

even 1.6 liter can make it run 12's why not 2.0??

You guys should wait about a year and let people like me open the path. Meaning all the headaches and research with high expenses. Chrisd made the fastest run I saw with my own eyes. 12.8.......Alex
