I think the complaints have a lot to do with over expectations. I have had very few problems with my S and my 98 Passport has had very few also....I'm sure their is some legit complaints with the two but come on "Lemons"...That seems like a very harsh word to describe the two!! Sure the Passport is manufactured by Isuzu but is a well built SUV worthy of the Honda badge!

THis is no surprise to me. As I have had so many problems with my s2k that the state of florida wants me to proceed with the lemon law proceedings. I still have the letter in my car. Im pondering whether or not to do it..cause ive put so much into the car to make it look unique to me. But just wanted to voice that my car COULD be a lemon as far as the state of fl is concerned.

Never realized there were so many dissatisfied owners. I feel lucky to have an example were nothing is really wrong. I could use the TSB for the soft top bump stops and I will take advantage of TSB-054 sooner or later, but every time I'm ready to go out and have fun my baby is ready too.

i have added mine to the lemon list. i am one of the lucky ones to have had engine troubles and honda just assumes "abuse". even thought the car is 3 months old and stock

su701,

Wow...you brought this thread back from the dead.

Up to 60,000 miles...here is the list of problems I have had:

1. 1st - 2nd gear grind
Resolved - TSB

2. Map sensor "gone wild"
Unresolved - Seemed to have gone away after taking it off and performing the "Nintendo blow"

3. Clutch Rattle
Somewhat resovled - TSB...it's still noisy in my opinion

4. CV Joint pitting
Resolved for now - Replacement under warranty

I find this list well, frankly, BS. I mean look, the honda odyssey is mid pack. There is, in my opinion,no better minivan on the market than honda's. I could see the S2000 being on there because essentially alot of people do not understand what they are buying when it comes to the S.

Tape Deck TSB 57 MY 2000

I must have missed this TSB for my MY2000. Come to think of it, I must have missed finding the tape deck! Must be another one of those "secret compartment" things.

I've been a fan of honda's reputation for years, I think this car may have had a few problems in the first year or two but they have made sure that the car lives up to its expectations. Some people I'm sure do abuse the car, there's a difference between "driving" the car and abusing it. As said before the complaints are for comfort issues that varry between each person, unlike many recalls on American cars that state if the recall is not done said car may catch on fire or cause saftey issues in a crash. We are luck to have our hondas.

Look carefully at that website again. It is sponsored by lawyers. Therefore it is designed to attract litigation-happy people who think they can win a case against Honda. It's obviously not a list based on any factual data, since lawyers don't work that way.

As for my S2000, I have the clutch rattle (going to have the TSB performed this summer) and I've already had one window regulator replaced which failed the day after it was put in. But my car is far from a lemon, as are most S2000's.

I have a few complaints to add for the lemon list about my Honda S2000. Is it too late to get these on the list:

1) The car illicits uncomon stairs and questions from people that do not know what kind of car it is. This can happen at a stop light, in a parking lot or almost everywhere.

2) When I walk back to the car from the store, there are sometimes people I don't even know standing around looking at it.

3) The car jolts forward in a huge rush every time the orange bar over the speedometer gets to the number 6500.

4) The car doesn't have a regular roof over top, and people say that the suns rays can be harmful.

5) It is able to go around corners way too fast.

Seriously though, I think we know what they can do with this lemon list.
