Default S2000 accidents

I've read alot about the structural rigidity of the S2000 and how impressive it is for a convertible car and was just curious, in collisions, how fast or how hard must typical impacts be in order to sustain frame rail damage? I've searched and noticed that some S2K's seemed to survive pretty bad accidents with minimal to no frame rail damage while others suffered major damage from what initially seemed like a minor accident. Anyone have any S2K accident experiences they would like to share in testament to the car's ability to withstand accident damage?

Well, the good news is many S' have been involved in horrible rollovers and other colissions and yet the ddrivers have walked away. They are supossed to be the best built roadster for safety.

I cant speak from experience, but I've seen pix and heard the stories.

I agree Considering the S2K's size and how rigid it is, it sure holds up quite well in the accident photos that ive seen on here. As long as you the driver/passenger can walk away from it, which seems in most cases ive seen here it was the case. There are plenty more S2K's out there to replace yours IF need be This of course shouldnt condone or encourage aggresive driving behavior

Hit a retaining wall at about 60 mph in a hydro-plane accident. The rear hit the wall and knocked the car around so that the front hit next. Did about $6800 in damage to suspension and sheetmetal in front and rear. Hit hard enough to break the brake disk into 3 pie shaped pieces on the ground with the wheel still on. No structural damage, no damage to me, and autocrossed the car many times after it was repaired with no problems.

I can personally attest to the rigidity of the car after having had a side-impact accident with a tree on the driver's door...you can see the amount of frame damage in the second picture when the door is open...definitely not bad considering the tree impacted directly on the door...it's one of the main reason't I'm driving another S2000 instead of something else after the accident
