road salt will eat your poor S2K alive!

Salt doesn't lower the freezing temperature enough in Alaska...well at least in Fairbanks when its 40-50 below zero. I just moved from there last year.

Nice to see another S2000 is residing in "The Last Frontier" - There are certainly some great photo opportunities in that state.

Do you guys in Fairbanks lay down salt?

It's nice to know and see another s2000 here in Alaska. I know in I've see another Yellow, Suzuka Blue, and another Silver in Anchorage.
Ya I can't wait to find a good space to "drift" and have buddies take photos for me

BTW are you driving all year around?

You are way more brave than I am. I have a 2002 yellow S2K in Anchorage and it went into hibernation in early October as it always does. Purchased it new at the Honda dealer in town. I live up on the hillside and no way would I try to drive it around my neighborhood in the winter. You will probably be fine on flat surfaces and provided there is not so much snow to make your car a plow. What would worry me most is all the other crazy drivers out there sliding through intersections bouncing off your car. Do you have another car or is this your daily driver? If I see you around this winter I will definitely give you the

Good luck and be careful.

Hopefully this helps to dispel the misconception that a sports car can't drive in snow. It's all in the tires.

lol, dang quite a long time to own a car. I live off of E 68th and Elmore. Definitely wana check out your S2k. I've been fine so far driving, especially with all out snow that we've been getting so far. You have any issues coming down this morning? What is your DD while your S in taking a nap? I have really been plowing *yet*.... lol My Fiero, when I drove it through the winter/s became a plow on some occasions... lol. I didn't really plow any snow last night, except when I was in the Toy's-R-Us parking lot and in Target's parking lot when I was playing

I'm not too worried about other drivers. Never got hit when I drove my Fiero, through the 3 different winter seasons. Just really boils down to: A-lot of paying attention, watching the road like a hawk, defensive driving, and really just taking it slow and being very cautious.

I do have 2 other car if I don't feel like driving the S (2009 Mazda3 and a 1987 Pontiac Fiero[My first car ]). I just choose to drive the S She's just that much more special.

oooohhhhh.... painful reminder that snow is coming... and I have somewhat new Continental DW's... which probably perform about as well as Hoosiers in the snow... crap.

I'll probably choose to walk over driving my S in the snow hah

Now, last year when I owned a '00 Focus, it was snow-drifting time... but not this year ha

I used to live in Anchorage. I had my s2000, but I found it was too much of a hassle to drive around in the winter. I have seen it done a few times up there, but i never wanted to deal with it. In my experience, icy hills suck. S2000 in the warm weather and sun, and a beater with a heater in the winter. Good luck with the winter man.
