I never said it would be cheap Hell, I could make my lawnmower outperform both with enough money.......

I'm a HUGE Honda fan, all I have owned since 1984 are Honda cars.... that said, I have lived in Switzerland the past 8 months working for my company. I have had the opportunity to drive an Audi TT Roadster on the German Autobahn several times (at speeds over 220 k) about 135 mph for you non metric folks. All I can say is the fit, finish, heated seats, glass window, super sound system, great stereo (with disc changer), big trunk...and best of all, excellent acceleration through the gears and wonderful handling at high speed make the Audi TT Roadster a kick ass car. Now, do the looks and styling take my breath away the way my s2000 does...hell no. But for the money, and the fact that at high speeds you don't feel like the car will get away from you, the Audi is a winner. I am also upset with how cheap the Honda company is getting...really bad customer service at the dealers, crappy wiring inside the s2k, balky shifter, and the cheapest stereo ever built by man...leads me to wonder if I will purchase another Honda.

When I was looking, I really liked the looks of the TT. My problem was $$$$$.

Audi gets you in the door with the base 180-hp coupe @ $31k. Very competative with the S2000. The only problem was I wanted a convertible, quattro, the 220 high-output engine . . . that was now $40k. If I added any of the premium packages, your up to $42 - $43k. At that price point, I would have chosen the Boxster.

I don't know how the S2000 and TT compare from a performance perspective, I didn't test drive the TT, but I do know that the Honda is the best value-for-money - - - hands-down.

Dunno if anyone answered it already, but TT stands for Touring Trophy.

Actually its Tourist Trophy named after the race on the Isle of Man.

I learned that TT stood for Tourist Trophy from GT3. I actually bought one to race that class. I may have to test drive one for fun. For some reason, I doubt I would trade the S2000.

When I decided to part with my Z3, I focused only on getting a TT. Never gave the S2000 much thought. But after driving several TTs, coupes and roadsters, and spending 3-4 mos. on the TT message board, I finally dropped the plans for a TT. Too many complaints on mechanical problems and very poor dealer service. Far too many rattles that were never fixed. I never drove a used TT that didn't have numerous annoying rattles. Too pricey for what you get (a VW Golf based chasis/powerplant.) For the price of the S2000 I could've bought only a 1 yr old FWD, 180 hp roadster. Dealers are far and few between. Maybe if I lived in snow country I would've opted for the TT- but not needed in TX.
FWIW, the short test drives in the S2000 did not impress me. But the positive comments from owners on this MB did sway me. I'm glad they did, because by the time I'd driven my "new car" home 10-12 miles, I appreciated what the S2000 is really about. While I thought my Z3 was a joy to drive for 3 yrs, the Honda is FANTASTIC- no comparison in the fun department.

I just traded in my 2000 VW Beetle GLX Turbo for an S2000 and seriously considered an M roadster (used), Boxster (also used) or TT. After test driving all 4 extensively, the only two that were even comparable were the M and the S2000. The Boxster and TT felt like crap, in my opinion. The M was nice, but was too heavy for my tastes. The S2000 is just a phenomenal car to drive. It wins the "fun to drive" prize, hands-down, which is what these cars are about. The price is just the icing on the cake.
