I wonder if the auto will make it to the US though. In Japan, automatics can sometimes be a plus due to the insane traffic.
Over here with the S2000 being such a low volume, specialty sports car, I question whether it would be economically viable for Honda to introduce that version here.

Notice that the news item is from October and does not confirm what type of transmission is being talked about. The new car survey i completed about my 2002 since then has a question asking specifically about a sequential shifted six speed, ala M3. That would be a more likely source of a six speed as just the mechanical bits and electronics would need to be added to the existing manual tranny.
FWIW, I would love that type of tranny as I drive daily through heavy traffic.

This is a big transmission for big engines, it's unlikely to be fitted to a 4 cyl with only 153 ft/lbs of torque. That said, it's not out the question that there is a sync shifting auto in the works since you dinks have been screaming for it. I blame it on you!
Why bother is the question I have? It's not like these things are sitting on the showroom floors because nobody wants a stick. Surely there are other developments to spend time on.
