Default Is S2000 fastest 4 cyc in world?

I have had many debates with the so called V8 muscle car owners about the power of the s2000 can't compete with them. I usally respond by telling them that this is a Roadster not a Dragster and that to my knowlege this is the fastest and best performing 4 cylinder auto on the market today and possibly ever.
There response is always WHAT? REALLLY!!!

Does anyone know of any other stock 4 cylinder auto past or present that could out perform our STOOK?

It`s not the fastest. Makes the most NA hp per liter but is not the fastest. Also, that`s a pretty vague question. Fast can be described in many ways

hmm...interesting question....
the elise 190 which is a stock car...can do 0-60 in 4.8 but top speed is lower. I guess it is how you classify the elises of the world, but other then that...i can't really think of any non-modified 4 cyl. that are faster...anyone?

the original lotus esprit S4 was 0-60 4.8 sec 1/4 13.3 at 107mph.

turbo charged but faster...lotus is about the only maker of really fast 4 cyl besides honda....of course lotuses are also known for falling apart!!

You'll have to break this discussion down to production cars, NA and Turbo before you'll get anywhere. You can say the S2000 has the most HP to displacement in a PRODUCTION NA car in the world.

Its too vague of a quesiton...

The new RSX Type R will give a S2K a serious run. 220HP and ~2700lbs.
