The S2000 factory anti theft system
Hey All,
How good is the S2000's anti theft device? Should I think of replacing it? Also, does the remotes from Honda have anti code grabbing or are they ordinary?
Thanks,
Archon

I'm no car-security expert...
But I feel the car's stock immobilizer is 95% of a great alarm system, and it's free with the car. The stock alarm only goes off when someone messes with the battery or breaks a window -- and those two things aren't very likely. I have the Honda alarm because the dealer installed it, but I wouldn't have gotten it otherwise.
The only thing I've seen on aftermarket alarms that make them worthwhile are the cockpit radar sensors -- they'll chirp or trip the alarm when someone sneaks a hand into your car's cockpit while it's parked. The S2000's seats, radio, and personal posessions are all completely unprotected without such a sensor, even with the top up -- considering the top probably takes all of five seconds to plow through with a knife.
