Based on the responses, I believe there can be some conclusion to this with that being the stock S2000 is the fastest and quickest 4 cylinder (non-turbo) currently in production and available in the US today. This does not include the Impreza STI and EVO VII which are not currently available in the US as I understand it. Defining fast and quick as 0-60, 1/4 mi. and slalom speed. If not, please state any comparisons.
Westfield Megabusa (Lotus 7 type with Stock Hayabusa Suzuki motorcycle powerplant) does 0-60 in less than 3.5 and the quarter mile in less than 10 seconds.
Yes they are available in the US.
Street legal weight is less than 1000 lbs with 170 hp stock.

There isn't any NA 4 cyl that is faster than the Caterham R500.
That's it. That's all. (the Westfield Megabusa doesn't cut it against the Caterham)
