s2000 or Ferrari
it has taken me awhile, i worked up to it.... challenger, fiero, 300zx, 3000gt vr4, 308, 328, S2K, 360.
call it my mid life crisis and not having a wife/kids to support and educate. looking back, i almost wish i had gotten a 355 to drive around for the last 3 years waiting for the 360. it was time i could have spent enjoying the car, and even though it would have cost to maintain, insure, etc, i lost more in market fluctuations than i would have gotten back trading in the 355 when the 360 finally showed up.

I see lots of people drive their S2000's daily. Can you even drive a Ferrari "daily"? (I mean, WITHOUT it being in the shop every few hundred miles or so?)
Even though this is a "hypothetical" question, I feel it's still a pretty dumb one.
Mind you, if someone gave me one of those Ferraris, I'd certainly take it.
Then immediately SELL the thing and get something waaaaaaay better!

1st maint is fluid changes at 3000, minor maint at 15k, then major at 30k.
not something you would want to drive daily if it involves bumper-bumper on the interstate.....
in shop every couple hundred miles? no, it is not a 1940's/50's english roadster.
i put 5k on my 328 in a year with no problems. maintenance cost is high due to the schedule/parts involved, not because it is always broke.

I have lusted for a Ferrari all of my life. If I had the money to buy a new 360 F1, I would buy another S2000 to park in my garage and wipe with a diaper, a brand new NSX and a supercharger for the S2000 that I have now. I love Ferraris and I would kill to drive one. But, to me, a Ferrari is that most beautiful woman you have ever seen who is a total bitch. You would give your right nut to have a fling with her but, deep down inside, you just know that there is no way you could have a meaningful relationship with her.
Get an NSX. I have driven one. It is an amazing car.

I'd spend $50k and buy my client's '98 NSX. It's Solar Yellow/Onyx. It has the 11k miles, Comptech exhaust, Comptech clutch, new Yokos on the stock wheels...
I almost forgot to mention this part...
It has the Comptech supercharger. 490 hp! All servicing (including the Comptech work) has been done here at the dealership by Scott Caffey, the best NSX tech in the region.

A lot of different opinions I see. The part about being a part of an "elite" group of individuals....is something I have always dreamed of. (Immigrated to this country with neither my parents or myself with a single dollar.) It is bacause of this however, that even though I have it, I will not throw 60 grand on a car that I have to leave in my garage. I will go to my Acura dealer this week and test drive a new NSX.....
I have decided to keep my s2000 (it is by god the most fun to drive car I have ever driven <I drove, Diablo VT, 355, SL55, Viper, Z06, M3, M5, E55, S4, RS6, RX7, SUPRA, Modena, and more!> and still just something about the s2k that gives me a bulletproof grin ear to ear....
If I really like the NSX....i mean im spittin 90 grand....(im gonna nit pick the sh!t out of this car) I will buy one (imola orange
) and Ill have a garage that Ive always dreamed of.
On a side note....a friend of mine and I were talking the other day, and I mentioned how ....one can go through life driving ALL HONDA cars and be really happy.///
teen - used integra
20's TL Type S Cl Type S, s2000
30's 3.5 RL, Accord
40's 3.5 Rl, MDX
40's+ s2000, NSX
Just a thought.....

I say it should go like this
early teens - civic, used integra, CRX Si, S2000
early twenties - Accord Coupe, RSX, Element, S2000
late twenties - CRV, Accord 4 door, TSX, S2000
early thirties - TL, Accord 4 Door, Pilot, S2000
late thirties - TL, MDX, S2000
Early fourties - RL, MDX, S2000
Late fourties - RL, NSX, S2000
Really and truly... Honda needs some higher end luxury cars. You can tweek out in your early fourties with Honda.

Man... buy the Ferrari!!! I want one so bad that I can taste it. There is nothing that can compare to owning a Ferrari. The NSX is cool and gives you the performace... but owning a Ferrari is about more than just performace... it's about the experience. And you only live once.
