Default S2000 Horn

Has anyone replaced their S2000 car horn? If so, what did you get? Maybe it's just me but S2000 car horns are worst than the Civics.

I don't think it's bad at all. Nothing like my stock "4Runner" horn. That was so terible I had to change it out for a set of airhorns. If you want more info on what I went with, let me know.

Going to replace mine, I feel like the Road Runner everytime I have to honk

I will probably put in a "Freeway blaster" - 130db electric horn for now. Should work without any re-wiring and will sound like a "Real horn".

Like you, I felt my '00 horn was too "beep beep-ish". The '02 and newer have dual horns so they don't sound as bad. I replaced mine quite early in the car's life with Fiamm dual hi/lo "Highway Blasters". These make the sound of a '60's Buick. When I honk, people start looking for the big chrome grill in their rear view.
There were several thread on this with pics going back about a year and a half ago. Try searching using "Fiamm".

Many who have done this mod have increased the horn fuse amperage. It's located under the hood fuse panel. I think I doubled mine.

I will do the search, thanks for the info. I was hoping the horn was easy to get to and replace For now, I will probably just put in a single horn. I had to order a new horn for my wife's car, so I got an extra for the S2000 "just in case". I am glad I did, never honked the horn during any of my test drives. Imagine my surprise when I got my car and honked at someone....

Here is what my 4Runner horn used to sound like.

First you will hear the stock horn, 2nd you will hear the new air horns. It was definitely the worst sounding factory horn I've ever heard.

I have three compressors running 6 trumpets behind my front bumper. sounds like a freight train. I picked up 3 of the double fiamm airhorns from pep boys and then got a bracket from home depot so I could mount them all in there.

Did Honda make the S2000 horn louder at some point? I remember people posting about changing their horn a year or two ago, so I always expected it was because it wasn't loud enough. Well, I have tested the horn in my 03, and to me it seems freaking loud. Sure, it has that "beep beep" sound like other Hondas, but it just seemed really loud to me. Maybe I'm just getting adjusted to the way things sound different in a convertible.
