Ironic thing is that most people who want "clean" S2000s only want to molest them themselves.

I use the term molested in a non-modified manner. I will buy a modded car all day long as long as it has been taken care of reasonably well. I use the term in this case to describe neglect for basic car care.

Gotcha...

Where in the Southeast are you? I bought my S a little over two years ago and flew down to Gainesville, FL to get mine. Paid 16,100 for an 06 with 69k miles.

I found an 18k mile AP2 GPW on Tan (my top choice, though realistically too elusive) locally and the guy would take $22k but my budget is $15k or less with mileage being of no concern. As much as I commute, I don't need to ruin a low mile car like that let alone pay a low mile premium.

If you have a budget, stick to it. It might take more time to find it but during this time you can start puting some money on the side. One thing I learned buying used car is that when you buy one, 90% of the time you'll end up fixing a thing or 2 or just running a regular maintenance. There's also a reason why you have a budget and going above it might impact the maintenance you'll have to do after buying it.

I was in the same situation as you before I purchased my Ap2. My budget was 15k or less. Everything around my price range were only Ap1s with high mileage, A really clean ap1 with lower mileage was priced 15k+. I ended up paying a few thousand more for an Ap2 with only 20k miles from original owner. In the end it just made more sense than paying for an Ap1 with high mileage for a bit less. It was sort of like an investment the way I see it. If I put 20k miles in the next 4 years, I can probably get close to the price I paid if I decide to sell it but if it was the Ap1 then I would probably get no where near the price I paid if I put an additional 20k miles in another 4 years.

I'm having a hard time finding anything with a clean title that I really want. Lots of silvers and suzuka blues, but nothing in black or white

I am carless ATM so I may end up settling and getting one of those. I mean, an S2000 is better than no car of course, but if I am spending some money I'd like to get what I really want as opposed to something that's good enough. I am looking at cars all over the place too

e: Accel Junky, where was that car in NC that you went to look at? I am looking at some cars in that area too and don't want to hit the same one up

NC was at Leith McBrayer Chrysler in Aberdeen. Silverstone on black AP2. There are a couple of black AP2s in GA but I haven't seen them yet because I already have one black car to maintain
