S2000 hunt...lot of molested examples...hard to find a clean one
Like others have said, this car is now in the price range of a different demographic. When I buy one again I know I will probably have to travel to get it.
My 02 was extremely clean and 100% stock when I sold it, and the guy flew in from Ohio to NJ to get it and didn't haggle much at all. If you have a clean one that's stock and low miles, you have a real gem on your hands.

Lol, everyone wants a virgin car so they can be the first to stick their 'mods' in it.
What do you consider molested? My car has a Fuji exhaust, proper fitting Volks, Bilstein PSS9s, RB rotors, stereo, etc. Never tracked, all original paint, no dings. I think it's clean. But would you walk away from a car like this because it's "molested"?
Heck, I bought my Porsche with $15-20k in mods done by the previous owner. I bought it private party, after multiple conversations with the seller. I ended up with a car that is in top condition cosmetically, well sorted mechanically, and I paid pennies on the dollar for the mods (turbo, lsd, underdrive pulley, etc.)

That't not molested, IMO as long as the aftermarket parts are "light" mods, Intake, wheels exhaust etc.. If I have to spend 2K to get the car back to stock then yeah its molested. As long as you still have the OEM parts I wouldn't shy away from this example.
I have to brag a bit, but it will also give you some hope I think. I bought my 03 Suzuka last year from a couple that was moving out West. It had 48k miles on it and was garaged and PERFECT and completely bone stock.
They wanted cash too which worked to my advantage and I bought it for a price well within your budget. Keep looking!

unfortunately, in my recent search, the S2000 are in 2 camps of pricing, below $15k for high mileage older models (Ap1) and above $19k for lower mileage, AP2 models...
that's just the way it is...either spend more $ and get a lower mileage, "unmolested"car or pay alot less and get one that may be modded, but have alot more miles
(as you can see, i chose to spend a bit more, to get a 2007 and totally stock car
)

So after reading this thread I went to look at what was for sale in my area and even though this is out of your budget, this is probably the most unmolested S2000 out there. With only 3,000 miles on it. My link
