Question S2000 interior parts making noises.. help!

so ive had my 07 s2000 for a year and a half now. Original owner, babied this car like anything... but for some reason theres little things in the car that makes noises that get on my nerve these days. For example the seatbelt near the top rubs againist the drivers seat and makes this high pitch scratching noise . Also if the passenger pushes the chair all the way back the leather or something is rubbing againist the back and makes weird scratchy noises, so i have to have the seat pushed up a bit. Also the softtop latch on the passenger side rattles off and on when i drive. Are these common problems?? If so, does anyone know how to fix it?

Yes they are common. For the squeaky seat belt, put a piece of felt on the seat where it rubs. For the back of the seat rubbing the plastic, you could use felt or keep the seat off of the plastic. For the latch, stuff a small piece of foam in there.

There are a lot of threads pertaining to common squeaks and rattles which a search would provide.

^ I agree.

I ofter after a good cleaning will try to track them all down one at a time. I'll go for a quick spin, find one.. come back, fix it and then go out again to find another.

How about a clicking noise coming from the top just behind my head on the left side? Sounds like maybe the top is shifting over the frame with high tension. Fix?

the noises are common, could be a few things...for me ...i just put velcro stips on the spots that appear to touch behind the seat and the seat back, most of the noise is no longer there....also lubed the top hinges, all of them...carefully and neatly. i drive with the seat all the way back.

Yeah same here, i drive with the seat all the way back. Besides a hardtop is there a way to eliminate wind noise through the softop? lol

There are some TSBs for rattling tops. The dealer can take care of it for you.
