if indeed my car came with the defect,i haven't managed to pop the cap to let the genie out.....of course you are familiar with the "typical" conditions under which these problems arise..."extended runs at 90 mph+,dive onto a off ramp, stop, readline it in first, speedshift into second, and....gee!it grinds...i will still maintain that a $500K ferrari gearbox can be trashed .also, let's see how long the factory "fix's" last with certain "spirited" drivers out there...could be interesting...

This car by a long shot is far more refined than my '97 integra GS-R ever was. I'd suggest, as others here have, that there is an undue amount of attention paid to the rare problems because this is one place where owners can chew the fat about issues with their cars.

And DO NOT go near Planet Honda on 22, they lied to me a few years ago about having a used Del Sol VTEC on hand, then tried to sell me a Miata, saying it was "the same car". They are an embarassment to automobile dealerships and should be avoided.

Try Madison Honda, they are near Morristown and treated me like a king.

There is still another design defect we all share and that is the scratching of the rear window when you lower the top.
So we put towels or Muz mats or whatever to stop it. I don't remember Boxsters having to put a towel in their cars.
Chalk that up as a bad idea.
