A few different threads have popped up on the forum regarding the Limited Edition Book that Honda published back in 1999. This was the book that came packaged inside of a slipcase to protect it. I tend to think of it as more of a booklet given the brevity of the contents. Honda also published the same content in a spiral-bound format that was not numbered or noted as being limited in any way (oddly I've seen far fewer references to the spiral-bound book online over the years).
The Limited Edition book with slipcover case can be seen on the top left. The spiral-bound version can be seen on the lower left.
Yesterday I came to realize just what kind of impact supply and demand is having on the pricing of these books, having now found one listed for sale at $200.
I have made a lo-res scan of the spiral-bound version to give people here a chance to see what is contained within these books. (Some of which Honda repurposed elsewhere in other marketing pieces related to the S2000.) I am trying to obtain permission from American Honda to create a higher-res scan of this content, so that it might actually be print-worthy. So far I am not having any luck reaching the department that can give me an answer (not exactly surprising at this point in time).
Thanks for taking the time to scan and post this! I've always wondered what the content of this book is like. But they're so difficult to find. Now I know!
Interesting - I bought one in early 2000 when I had my first S2000 - I never opened it and the book is still inside the plastic wrapped slipcover. A yellow sticky on the cellophane says "997", so I guess that's the sn of the book. I also have the print of the red Honda s2000, the cutaway print - that is numbered 1025
To make things enigmatic, no, it is not the same one as i have seen. The one i have seen had text and drawings (more) separated, and more, bigger, sometimes different technical drawings.
The text explained also more about the history and technical details of the S2000. One difference, for example, was the inclusion of a lot of technical drawings in Black and White in much bigger sizes, one per page.
For example, in your booklet on page 28 is a technical drawing of a red S2000 with a "dummy" driver inside. The one i have seen has this drawings in big, page size, black and white and from different angles. One was form above with the angles of view the driver could look outside with the top up drawn in.
As i mentioned, it was online in high resolution at the H-tune forum in England, wich is sadly down a the moment.
In this forum, the Booklett was called "A press Kit for Journalist" and described as released in 1999. It was also mentioned that it even came with some photos and even 6 slides - diapostives. If i remember correctly, it was called as UK- England specific booklett. I tried to create a account at the forum, but i failed (They want some phone nr. or so... ) and as i tried it again a few weeks later i found out that the forum was gone. I was sadly a few weeks to late!
Oh man, guess I'll add that book to the list of things that I'd like to find someday (which includes the cutaway illustration poster that JackTs2k mentioned above). Thanks for the clarification.

Jack, I'm thinking you're sitting on a gold mine with that original book. It's like vinyl records still in their vinyl wrap!
