Here's my idea. You'd probably have to sell the house to buy one if Honda made it.
Remember years ago, Honda made a 750cc V4 prototype race bike? It had 4 oval pistons, each with 2 spark plugs and 8 little valves, spun up to rediculous rpm's. Made so much power, they wouldn't let them race it.
NOW, blow one of those up to 2 liters, pop that baby into the S's engine bay and you'd still have room for a George Foreman grill in there.
(OK, dream sequence OFF.)

ok, i'd still have to go with my S2000-bodied F1 though

but i could manage with yours

or two conjoined engines from the RC211V - that 248bhp 1-liter V-5 x 2 = damn fast!

What if Honda would simply put factory turbo matching the specs of Euro EVO... the same size engine => same car but LOTS more torque...

I want SMG into my S2k period!

I don't want SMG. I like shifting gears. It's fun!

I'd like a 2.3 liter I-5 making 12,000 rpm and 320hp
and a weight of 2750 pounds. 17 inch wheels and tires.
A better sound system.

I'm not likely to ge any of these.

Guess what. Who care! I love my car!

I like to shift too, do not take me wrong. Plus the clutch controll gives something SMG would not. BUT - this is high rev engine with narrow power band. I am driving motorcycle as well (where the shifts are sequential) and I can only see the similarities between these two. I mean - honestly - wouldn't you wish (sometimes) your hand would be faster and you could have both hands on wheel while shifting (agressive in canyons)?

Half of this thread is about a wish list. I don't think the moderator intended it to be, but here's my contribution...I'll just input about the speculation of the future S2000, if any.

Automotive News announces 2005 will have a new re-style, re-engineer:
http://www.autonews.com/article.cms?articleId=40492

Photos of what could be:
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...?threadid=80565

Another:

College Hills Honda's prediction:
http://www.collegehillshonda.com/funstuff/...f/honda2003.htm

And of course, BigWave's theory of 2004 hosting the new S2000:
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...50&pagenumber=1

Honestly, I'd have to go with BigWave's claim, as farfetched as it may sound. His history of threads does indeed have pinpoint accuracy.

s2kpdx01 -

I know what is gonna happend. Honda and chevy are going to shoehorn a modified version of the LS6 into the S2000. Since the LS6 only weighs about 120 lbs more then the F20C it is good choice. The push rods will be replaced with titanium rods with carbon fiber sheaths for added rigidity. The stroke will be shortened, to go from 5.7 liters to 5 liters. The redline will be increased from 6500 rpms to 7500 because of the titanium rods and shorter stroke. HP will go from 405 to 445, but torque will be down a little to 385!

The S2000 will only be hardtop and the X-frame will be gone because there will be no need for it since it won't be a convertible. This will end up lowering the total weight of the car to 2650! The transmission will be moved to the rear to make up for the added weight in the front from the engine. This will allow the SZ5000 to still have a 50/50 weight distribution!

oh yeah, all new quaife diff and 7 speed sequential transmission F1 style baby!!
full coil over suspension, with 18 inch super light wheels and 14inch rotors in the front.

Total cost $40k.
0-60 3.6
0-100 7.9
standing 1/4 11.0 132mph

hehe

nice idea... except for the price! $40k is a bit cheap for sub 4-sec 0-60mph car! not to mention 100mph in <8sec!

i'd buy it.

Make a convertible out of the NSX and sell it for the S2000 price.

Seriously, I will believe it when I see it. Even if Honda redesigns the S they are likely to kill it last minute, or not bring it to the U.S. Remember Honda has done some crazy shit in the past. Personally I wouldn't mind an S2k fastback coupe with a 2.2 liter motor. When that comes out I will probably be ready for a trade in.
