Default S2000 needs a new Motor. What to do?

Hey guys just want some opinions on what my options are. My S2000 is in need of a new motor and I’ve been told I need to top it off the oil every few days. Motor will last at least another 2-3 years from what I’m hearing. The options will be provided down below unless you guys have any other guidance on what to do in this situation. I truly love this car and don’t see myself driving any other car for a very long time.

- Sell the car and tell the buyer about the motor.
- Keep the car for 2-3 years and then sell.
- Motor swap to a F20 or F22 motor. (Currently have an AP2).

Another thing is I have a baby on the way and we need an SUV. We currently have a 2010 Acura TSX as a daily. Thank you for your input guys and I love being apart of this community!

What's wrong with the current motor just burning lots of oil? Rings gone?

It’s burning a ridiculous amount of oil. I think I burned damn near 3-4 quarts of oil in less than 500 miles of driving. The oil burning is the biggest culprit.

My guy didn’t mention anything about rings but maybe that’s another culprit?

I'd quantify how much oil its burning.
Then find out why.

It may not even be burning oil. Is it leaking?

After you have all the info...make a decision or ask for advice.

Currently, you don't know how much oil its losing or why it's losing oil. Or if anything else is wrong.

Tips:
-Engine rebuilds don't work on F20/22's
-A used F22 longblock is currently $3500-5K+. So make sure you need a longblock before sourcing one.

Presumably because the baby won't fit in the secret compartment...

Enjoy your S for 2-3 years. By then you'll have another kid (or one on the way), expenses will be mounting, and the S will have to go anyway.

Don't worry -- much as we all love it, the S2000 is still just a car: there's no comparing it to family.

3 - 4 quarts in 500 miles is beyond excessive. @B serious has listed the relavant questions you need to answer (at least for yourself). Did I miss what engine is in the car and what engine oil you're using?

A baby was a full time job for me leaving no sports car time and requiring a reliable vehicle. Actually two reliable vehicles (and baby seats) assuming both parents working.
