It's kind of ironic, I drove a 99 Corvette and an S2000 on the same day. I thought the vette looked great but was disappointed by the squeeks and rattles and the road noise. The S2000 felt alot lighter on it's feet, I guess it's all in your own perspective. I ordered a Suzuka blue 2 weeks ago.(still have to wait another month)

SOME PEOPLE ARE NEVER HAPPY!

I have an S2000 and I LOVE IT!! As of today, I would not drive any other car (that is until kids are in the picture).

My boyfriend has a 2002 Corvette, and the car is pretty cool, but very different from the S2000. I wouldn't spend the money on a Vette, when I can have an S2000 for much less.

If you want a Vette, then go buy one, or can you afford it? If you can afford to complain about your S2000, maybe you should put your money where your mouth is.

Go to your local Chevy dealership and trade in your S2000 for a Vette and retire to the Vette Forum. The S2000 owners love our cars and can do without your crap.

Otherwise enjoy your S2000 and button your lip.

Rick Hesel has it right. The design & production of ANY car involves choices
as to the set of values that will be given top priority. The Honda S2000 was not
built for the 1/4 mile and is not intended to out-muscle a Corvette. To quote a
phrase: if you want a Corvette, buy one. It does what it was designed to do
very well indeed.

Honda has delivered a superb package at an unbelievable price. One is hard
pressed to fault the way Honda DELIVERED its priorities. We as consumers
have an incredible array of choices, and for those of us whose car driving objectives
match those of the Honda Motor Company, we are very fortunate indeed to
be able acquire a car that is as superbly designed and built as the S2000 is.

I doubt that there is another car availbable for under $35k that delievers as
well as the S2000 does.

It's not denial. The S is hands-down the most perfect car available for my needs. The car does NOT need a V6....a six would ruin everything I love about the car. Maybe it's not for you....if that's the case, there are plenty of six-cylinder roadsters out there for you. But don't mess with my S....it's perfect.

oh yeah....1 star

Guys.. stop giving him crap.
He's not saying Corvette is better than S2000. S2000 is a great roadster, but it has its flaws like other cars. Lack of torque through out the rpm range.

C'mon let's get real. My S2000 bogs alot from a idle start especally with the a/c on in this hot weather.
I know love is blind, but we do need more torque. Sure S2000 will get you from point A to point B, but more torque down low will make this a perfect roadster.

I agree that our car has a little less torque than I would like on the low end, but given the overall performace of the S2000, I really have nothing to complain about. I mean, I bought the car sight unseen after ordering i in 1998, expecting the car to be a perfomance vehicle made by Honda with a 4 cylinder engine. I made that choice, and to this day do not regret it. I am sorry that certain buyers bought the car expecting the 4 cylinder engine to perform like an 8, or even a 6, but if Honda had put a 6 in the S2000, the weight would have caused the perfomrance to suffer.

No, the car was built this way for a reason, and its perfect enough for me. Everyone likes different things, and thats why GM still sells cars.

if you want torque, go buy a Dodge Ram 3500 truck.

I love my Stook. The day I bought it, I went out shopping for a new car to trade my 2002 Yukon XL in on. The Yukon was a boring ride and I needed something to spruce my day up when going to work. Work is depressing, but driving there didn't have to be. Anyway, back to car shopping. I first stopped at a Chevy dealer to check out a Z06. Almost bought a yellow one on the spot but decided to check out the Honda dealer two blocks down the road to see what all the excitement about the S2000 was about. Needles to say, two hours later I drove home with a Spa Yellow. Am I happy with my choice? You bet! One of the best cars I have ever owned, and I've had a few good ones - Porsche 911S, Porsche 924 Turbo, Corvette, hyperdrive fast modified RX7, 427 Chevy Caprice to name a few. I am getting more enjoyment out of the Stook than any of the others and I can't wait to get it supercharged or turbo'd.

As an asside, all of you who have knocked the Corvette for poor gas mileage, I think this is one area where the Vette does better than the S2K.

I think this is all a matter of opinion... I've not bogged off the line, I've not had "low end torque problems", I downshift, that's the the gear shifter is for, no? It's a matter of taste...

Plus, if honda wanted a car that had 350lb-ft of torque and 6000 rpm red line, I am inclined to think that the engineers at Honda can make an engine that'll do that... but since the design goal was 9000rpms, light, 50/50 weight distribution, etc etc... this is what we have.
