The dealer replaced my latches, greased everything, and maybe tightened the top. The top now "feels" new again. Also have the tech make sure the felt straps under the top buttresses are still glued down - they are supposed to keep the glass from cutting into the top, but the glue doesn't last, the straps can get twisted, and then they'll flap if you drive top up at speed.
Thanks!

Where is this buttress thing that's supposed to be glued? Can someone take a picture of it for me or tell me where to find it in my Helms manual?
Thanks!
Thanks!
You can flatten it with your fingers and that will help reduce the tendency to flap around while driving, but it needs to be glued down.
Its where the gap between the top and window is...

Thanks Saki GT! I'll check it today. Can I use just about any glue?

Buy the hard top striker plates and replace the OEM ones this should make your top latch more tightly. Therefore reducing rattles from the top.
Get a STB and a lower brace of some kind (X brace or U brace) this will make the car stiffer and less prone to body flex. It will also yeild handling gains such as quicker turn in and a more responsive feel. There's no real evidence this will reduce rattle but if you say it does then it might help.
